The evidence beneath the English
Every consequential choice
leaves a record.
The published library was developed through direct Greek analysis, lexical work, and manuscript comparison. Where surviving witnesses materially disagree, the competing Greek readings and their effect on English remain open to the reader.

Textual basis
SBL Greek New Testament
Edited by Michael W. Holmes. The project's standardized, publicly inspectable Greek reference edition. It is not presented as retroactive proof that every existing chapter originated from one uniform printed edition.
This is an honest reference claim, not a retroactive claim that all completed work began from one uniform printed edition. Material manuscript forks remain independently documented at the reading they affect.

ἐν τῷ ὀνόματι Ἰησοῦ Χριστοῦ / ἐν τῷ ὀνόματι τοῦ κυρίου
Which baptismal name or title does Luke report?
The earlier reading explicitly names Jesus Messiah; the later tradition replaces the name with the title ‘the Lord.’
Why this default
The explicit name is default because it has the principal early support and retains both Jesus and his messianic title in the baptismal formula; the Lord reading is presented separately.
Evidence
ExternalJesus Christ is supported by P74, א, A, B, C and E; the Lord is widespread in the later Byzantine tradition.
InternalThe later wording may reflect familiar baptismal phrasing and reduces the double proper designation to a title.
