The evidence beneath the English
Every consequential choice
leaves a record.
The published library was developed through direct Greek analysis, lexical work, and manuscript comparison. Where surviving witnesses materially disagree, the competing Greek readings and their effect on English remain open to the reader.

Textual basis
SBL Greek New Testament
Edited by Michael W. Holmes. The project's standardized, publicly inspectable Greek reference edition. It is not presented as retroactive proof that every existing chapter originated from one uniform printed edition.
This is an honest reference claim, not a retroactive claim that all completed work began from one uniform printed edition. Material manuscript forks remain independently documented at the reading they affect.

Acts 11
acts.11.ac11HouseOccupants
ἐν ᾗ ἦμεν / ἐν ᾗ ἤμην
Was Peter alone in the house, or does he include others with himself?
The plural says ‘the house in which we were’; the singular says ‘the house in which I was.’
Why this default
The default follows the strongly attested plural ‘the house in which we were’; the singular ‘I was’ likely reflects harmonization to Peter’s surrounding first-person narration.
Evidence
ExternalThe plural is supported by P74, א, A, B, D and an Old Latin witness; the singular is supported by P45, E, P, Ψ, 33, 81, 614, 945, 1241, 1739, 2495 and the Byzantine tradition.
InternalA copyist could readily replace the unexpected plural with the surrounding singular. The plural also naturally includes Peter’s six companions.
