The evidence beneath the English
Every consequential choice
leaves a record.
The published library was developed through direct Greek analysis, lexical work, and manuscript comparison. Where surviving witnesses materially disagree, the competing Greek readings and their effect on English remain open to the reader.

Textual basis
SBL Greek New Testament
Edited by Michael W. Holmes. The project's standardized, publicly inspectable Greek reference edition. It is not presented as retroactive proof that every existing chapter originated from one uniform printed edition.
This is an honest reference claim, not a retroactive claim that all completed work began from one uniform printed edition. Material manuscript forks remain independently documented at the reading they affect.

Acts 14
acts.14.ac14HealingCommand
ἀνάστηθι ὀρθός / ἐν τῷ ὀνόματι τοῦ κυρίου Ἰησοῦ Χριστοῦ ἀνάστηθι
Does Paul invoke the name of the Lord Jesus Christ in the healing command?
The shorter text commands the man to stand upright; a broad alternate stream adds an explicit invocation of the Lord Jesus Christ, and the Western text also commands him to walk.
Why this default
The default follows the concise command supported by the earliest witnesses; the explicit invocation of Jesus’ name is a broad expansion influenced by other apostolic healing narratives.
Evidence
ExternalThe short ‘Rise’ command is supported by P74, א, A, B, the Byzantine tradition and early versions; the name expansion by C, D, E, Ψ, 33, 36, 614, 945, 1175, 1739 and versions; D also adds ‘and walk.’
InternalThe longer form closely resembles Acts 3:6, giving scribes a natural source for expansion. The short command is complete and explains both longer forms.
