How should life’s surplus be expressed?
Perissos means exceeding the usual measure, more than enough, surplus, or abundance. The adjective stands substantivally: literally, ‘that they may have excessive/abundant.’
Why this default
“Have it in abundance” is default because the substantival perisson expresses a surplus beyond the ordinary measure while English needs an object supplied from “life.” “Overflowing” visualizes the surplus; “beyond measure” preserves excess in more formal language.
