The earliest broad text reads ‘the Father.’ A later stream adds ‘my,’ making the relationship explicit.
Why this default
‘The Father’ is default because it has early, broad, and diverse support. Adding ‘my’ makes the relationship explicit and matches common Johannine phrasing.
