What will the spirit announce?
The spirit’s announcement extends beyond recalling Jesus’s speech to disclosing what is still approaching for the disciples and their mission.
Why this default
‘The things coming’ is default because it preserves the present participle ta erchomena and leaves open whether the reference is distant future, approaching events, or the unfolding mission. ‘Things to come’ naturally narrows the phrase toward future prediction.
