Jesus asks that those given to him ultimately share his presence and witness the glory grounded in the Father’s pre-creation love.
Why this default
‘That they may behold my glory’ is default because theōreō suggests sustained, attentive seeing and the translation preserves the purpose clause. ‘See’ is natural but less marked, while ‘contemplate the glory that is mine’ unfolds the repeated article and reflective force at the cost of added wording.
