Theōreō means behold, observe, or contemplate. The doubled article emphasizes ‘the glory—the one that is mine.’
Why this default
‘That they may behold my glory’ is default because theōreō suggests sustained, attentive seeing and the translation preserves the purpose clause. ‘See’ is natural but less marked, while ‘contemplate the glory that is mine’ unfolds the repeated article and reflective force at the cost of added wording.
