How does Jesus describe the work given to him?
Jesus looks upon the mission entrusted to him as accomplished and identifies that completed work as the way he glorified the Father on earth.
Why this default
‘Having completed the work you gave me to do’ is default because it keeps the participle teleiōsas dependent on Jesus’ statement that he glorified the Father. ‘I finished’ is smoother English but turns the participial means into a separate finite claim.
