The present form can mean ‘I am ascending’ or announce an imminent action, ‘I ascend.’
Why this default
‘I am ascending’ is default because it preserves anabainō’s present form and the repeated movement to ‘my Father and your Father.’ A future rendering explains imminence, while ‘I go up’ retains movement but weakens the present announcement.
