How undressed was Peter?
Gymnos can mean naked or stripped down. Working fishermen commonly removed an outer garment without necessarily being completely nude.
Why this default
‘Stripped for work’ is the working default because gymnos can describe someone stripped of an outer garment, fitting Peter’s act of putting that garment back on before entering the water. Complete nakedness remains lexically possible; the purpose ‘for work’ is contextual explanation rather than a certainty.
