How does the lament describe Jerusalem’s abandoned house?
The earliest form lacks ‘desolate’; many witnesses add it from Matthew’s parallel, and a limited form repeats ‘to you’ after the adjective.
Why this default
Omission is preferred because the earliest witnesses lack ‘desolate’; the addition is readily explained by harmonization to Matthew 23:38.
