Why this default
‘Turn’ is the working default because metanoeite commands a changed orientation, not mere regret, and it keeps Jesus’ summons active and directional. ‘Repent’ is the established compact term, while ‘change your mind and direction’ explains the range but inserts a two-part definition into the text.
