Who is ‘the lord’ of the colt?
The explanation given to anyone questioning the colt’s removal centers on the Lord’s need and prompt return.
Why this default
‘The Lord has need of it’ is the working default because kyrios naturally carries titular force in Jesus’s authoritative instruction, while the pronoun still refers to the colt. ‘Its master’ is grammatically possible but resolves the deliberate ambiguity toward ordinary ownership.
