Why this default
‘Drink it new in the kingdom of God’ is default because kainon describes newness of quality or kind and keeps the adjective attached to the drinking. ‘Anew’ can suggest mere repetition, while ‘in a new way’ usefully explains the qualitative sense but adds a noun absent from the Greek.
