Why this default
‘You all will stumble’ is default because skandalizomai preserves the falling metaphor and the plural address to the whole group. ‘Fall away’ foregrounds failed allegiance, while ‘desert me’ states the immediate narrative outcome but removes the metaphor and its broader force.
