Why this default
‘Perform many powers’ is default because the preceding English auxiliary ‘did’ already carries the past tense, while dynameis remains visible as Matthew’s term for manifestations of power. ‘Mighty works’ expands the idiom naturally, while ‘miracles’ identifies the event category and loses the repeated power vocabulary.
