The evidence beneath the English
Every consequential choice
leaves a record.
The published library was developed through direct Greek analysis, lexical work, and manuscript comparison. Where surviving witnesses materially disagree, the competing Greek readings and their effect on English remain open to the reader.

Textual basis
SBL Greek New Testament
Edited by Michael W. Holmes. The project's standardized, publicly inspectable Greek reference edition. It is not presented as retroactive proof that every existing chapter originated from one uniform printed edition.
This is an honest reference claim, not a retroactive claim that all completed work began from one uniform printed edition. Material manuscript forks remain independently documented at the reading they affect.

αἰώνων [ἀμήν]; θάνατος καὶ ᾅδης
How does the living one conclude his declaration, and what realm does he command?
Westcott-Hort, Tregelles, and NA28 move directly from living forever to holding the keys of death and Hades. The Byzantine text adds ‘Amen’ after ‘forever.’ ᾅδης names the realm of the dead, not the later final lake of fire; the options also let readers retain the traditional name.
Why this default
The critical sequence is preferred because the three major editions move directly from eternal life to authority over death; rendering Hades as the realm of the dead clarifies the distinct intermediate domain.
Evidence
ExternalSBLGNT apparatus: αἰώνων continues directly to the keys clause — WH, Tregelles, NA28; + ἀμήν — RP. The Hades/realm-of-the-dead rendering is a separate English layer within the coordinated options.
InternalThe decision record relies on the stated lexical, grammatical, or translation rationale.

Decision-level revision history begins with this ledger. Earlier development is not reconstructed into false precision; future material changes can be appended to the relevant record with their reason and date.
