Westcott-Hort and NA28 read φαρμάκων, a form that can denote drugs, potions, or poisons. Tregelles and the Byzantine text read φαρμακειῶν, more directly ‘sorceries’ or magical practices. The semantic fields overlap in antiquity but are not identical.
Why this default
The φαρμάκων reading is preferred because Westcott-Hort and NA28 attest the concrete noun; rendering its plural semantic range as ‘drugs and poisons’ exposes the difference from explicit sorcery terminology.
